When Same-Day Door Glass Isn’t Possible

If your door glass is clear or bronze and falls within our standard stocked sizes, we can usually replace it the same day through our Same-Day Door Glass Service.

Sometimes glass can’t be replaced the same day — here’s why:

• The glass is extra tall, narrow, wide, or thick and doesn’t match stocked sizes.
• The glass is a special color (gray, green, blue, reflective, or Low-E).
• The door has dual-pane (insulated) glass, which must be factory-sealed and ordered complete.

We still work fast — measuring, ordering, and securing your storefront. Every custom glass replacement includes a mini door tune-up and our Lock-Up Guarantee℠, performed by our in-house certified door technicians to ensure your door locks, chimes, and alarms all work before we leave. (Board-ups and safety tape service are billed separately.)

How It Works

1. Call for a Quote

   You don’t have to wait for an on-site visit to get a price. Just call us—we’ll review your glass type, size, and details with you over the phone and provide a quote right away. Photos help us confirm details quickly.

2. On-Site Measure

   A trained door technician confirms the exact fit—measuring for factory specs including size, thickness, and expert glass color match.

3. High Performance Coating & Thickness Verification with Glass-Check Meter

   Matching high-performance coated or tinted glass by eye alone isn’t enough. We use a precision glass-check meter to verify exact glass thickness and detect coatings across 2 to 6 glass surfaces depending on the insulated glass unit type. This guarantees the replacement matches your building’s color, clarity, and energy performance.

4. Make-Safe or Board-Up

   We remove broken glass and secure the opening using either safety tape or a professional board-up while you wait for the new glass. (Billed separately.)

5. Order & Color Match Guarantee

   We place your glass order the same day—if placed before 2 PM, most custom ¼" glass arrives the next business day. We guarantee your glass will be the right color and carefully color-match your new glass so it blends beautifully with your storefront. (Some colors have longer factory lead times.)

6. Installation & Mini Door Tune-Up (with Lock-Up Guarantee℠)

   Once the glass arrives, we return for installation. Every door glass install includes a mini door tune-up where we:

   • Check and adjust the lock alignment
   • Make sure alarms, chimes, and air curtain sensors work
   • Test gate compression for smooth operation
   • Verify the door opens and closes properly
   • Identify and advise on any mechanical issues

7. Clean-Up & Final Check

   We leave your storefront spotless, removing all glass debris and ensuring your door functions properly before we leave.

Understanding Your Glass Options

Tempered Safety Glass

Heat-treated for strength—four times stronger than standard glass. Breaks into small blunt pieces for safety. Must be cut before tempering, made to your exact size. Meets all commercial glass safety codes. Turnaround: usually 1–2 business days for most colors.

Laminated Safety Glass

Two panes of glass bonded with a strong inner plastic layer (PVB). Excellent for security and noise reduction. Turnaround: typically 1 business day depending on color.

Dual-Pane / Insulated Glass Units (IGU)

Factory-sealed glass units built for energy efficiency and comfort. Must be ordered complete. Typical turnaround: about 3 business days depending on coating, tint, or color. We safely remove broken glass, clean the frame, and apply safety tape or board-up as needed.
