Commercial Storefront Glass Replacement and Custom Film Matching – Glendora, CA
When storefront appearance matters, details matter too. This commercial glass replacement project in Glendora, California involved much more than simply replacing broken glass — it was about helping the client maintain the look and feel of their storefront as closely as possible.
The project involved replacing a large piece of tempered storefront glass measuring nearly 10 feet tall by 4½ feet wide. The original glass had two layers of older window tint film applied, and over time those films had faded and changed in appearance.
Matching older film is one of the more difficult challenges in commercial glass work. Sun exposure and age can alter both the color and the reflectiveness of film, making an exact match extremely hard to achieve.
Helping the Client Preserve Their Storefront Appearance
The clients were great to work with and cared deeply about maintaining a consistent appearance across their storefront. Because the glass panel was so large and visible, even a slight mismatch would have stood out immediately.
Instead of settling for a close approximation, we spent significant time researching options and comparing film samples from multiple manufacturers. After carefully reviewing film catalogs and testing combinations, we selected two different films from two separate window film companies to recreate the closest possible match to the original look.
The goal was simple: help the client maintain the storefront appearance they wanted without the new glass drawing attention to itself.
Matching Both Color and Reflectiveness
For this project, matching the bronze appearance alone was not enough. The reflective quality of the film also had to blend with the surrounding storefront glass.
By carefully layering the selected films onto the new tempered safety glass, we were able to achieve a near-perfect match in both:
Color tone
Reflectiveness
Overall storefront appearance
The Result
The finished storefront blended beautifully with the surrounding glass, and the clients were extremely happy with the final result.
Projects like this are a reminder that good commercial glass service is not just about replacing what is broken. Sometimes it is about helping businesses preserve the image and presentation they have worked hard to create.
